Do you need a merchant unit?
The Buck Fixed can be extended with a merchant unit. We actually call the full set-up the Buck Duo. This is the perfect solution for a fixed point of sale or counter set-up.
With the cashier module, you enter the amount to be paid and the card terminal is right next to the customer. They can continue the payment process from there.
Frequently asked questions
Is a network cable (RJ45) the only option for connection?
Yes. The Buck Fixed only works based on a landline network connection (standard network cable (RJ45)) directly to a switch or router.
A common question on this is whether a Wi-Fi adaptor with an RJ45 (out) socket can be used. The official answer is yes, it can work, but we do not support this set-up.
Can I also use the Buck Fixed at events?
Yes, provided there is mains power (220V) and internet landline there. If there is no 'landline' internet, you could use a 4G router to which an RJ45 cable can be connected.
My business is extremely seasonal. Can I adjust my transaction bundle(s) accordingly?
Yes of course! You can adjust your transaction bundle each month ready for the following month. Suppose you own a beach terrace and only open in summer. Then you activate your bundle in February (before March) and turn it off again come September. This means you avoid paying unnecessary costs when not using the card terminal.
Can I connect a cashier module to a Buck Fixed?
This is certainly possible. If you want to expand your Buck Fixed with a cashier module, this set-up is called the Buck Duo. If you let us know, we will make sure your plan is adjusted to this option.
How long is the warranty on the Buck Fixed?
Our terminals don't have a warranty period as such. As long as you are a customer of Buckaroo, we will ensure that you have a working card terminal.
