Everything about the new iDEAL2.0
The new form of the most popular payment method in the Netherlands
IDEAL has been the most trusted form of online payment since 2005. Approximately 70% of all online consumer purchases in the Netherlands are paid with iDEAL. Since consumer purchasing behavior has changed, iDEAL has now launched a new form: iDEAL 2.0.
In the short term, minor changes will be made. However, customers who currently use a Buckaroo payment page will use the new iDEAL 2.0 page. This payment page is offered by iDEAL itself and therefore replaces the Buckaroo iDEAL checkout.
A payment with iDEAL 2.0 is immediately confirmed and is therefore a direct payment method. In addition, payment is guaranteed, making it an attractive payment method for the selling party.
When will iDEAL 2.0 launched?
iDEAL 2.0 will be developed in various phases and will be provided with even more functionalities in the future. As a result, iDEAL 2.0 continues to meet changing customer wishes and makes the payment process even more customer-friendly.

Future functionalities
Some functionalities of iDEAL 2.0 will be published during the year:
- To use iDEAL 2.0 optimally, users can create an iDEAL account. Users can add a preferred bank account here. There is also the option to add address details.
- Thanks to the iDEAL profile, the payment process becomes easier because you can pay immediately with the preferred account.
- In addition, the purchasing process can be accelerated thanks to the “quick order” option. When a payer chooses this option at the checkout, delivery details are sent immediately. This is faster, but also decreases possible delivery errors.
- Furthermore, several additional services will be added in the future. For example, new payment options such as recurring or buy now pay later. The iDEAL in3 pilot that we are offering at the moment in partnership with iDEAL and in3 could also possibly become part of iDEAL 2.0. New payment options will be developed in cooperation with stakeholders.
