In the last 10 years, selling products or services through platforms has increased tremendously. There are different types of online platforms focusing on B2B, B2C or C2C. Buckaroo offers a dedicated payment solution called Split Payments that enables the automation of mix-baskets and split payments for B2C.
Pay online via platforms
A platform offers the advantage of a wider and more diverse offering compared to individual providers. Consumers can pay for products or services from different suppliers during checkout with a single payment, after which Buckaroo handles the disbursements to the various suppliers through the Split Payments solution. Platforms can specify how the purchase amount should be split and what percentage, if any, goes to the platform itself.

Laws & regulations
Platforms are in most cases not financial institutions and are therefore not allowed to process payments. According to the new PSD2 regulations of De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB), platforms are not allowed to receive and distribute funds themselves to different parties. As a Payment Service Provider, Buckaroo does have the necessary licenses and certifications to process these platform payments.
